On March 23, 2022, the new Organic Law on the Organization and Integration of Vocational Training was definitively approved by the Spanish Senate.
This new Vocational Training Law in Spain aims to globally transform the vocational training system into a unique system that is the gateway to quality employment for young people, which can respond flexibly to the interests, expectations and aspirations of professional qualification of people throughout their lives, and to the demands of the productive sectors.
The objective is to turn Vocational Training into a lever for economic and social transformation for the country.
This law has been the result of an intense process of participation that began at the end of 2020. It has received contributions from the business sector, the Autonomous Communities, other ministerial departments, social partners, numerous associations, and entities, and from citizens. In addition, the initiative received the favorable reports of the State School Council, the Economic and Social Council, the General Council of the Vocational Education Training, Sectoral Conferences, and the State Council.
The Vocational Training Law that has entered into force is intended not only for students but also for workers and unemployed people of any age who wish to continue their training and formally accredit their professional experience.
